Distressed Jean Jacket | Layering HTV

Sometimes I decide what to make by starting with the cut file and sometimes I decide by starting with the blank apparel garment. In the case of this jacket, I had been holding on to this design that was drawn by hand for a long time. I had been waiting and waiting for the perfect jacket to put this on. I already knew exactly what I wanted, but hadn’t found the right jacket yet.

Custom Table Runner Made with HTV

In my opinion, one of the best ways to transform a table setting is a table runner. It is a quick way to help you tie in your color theme, especially if you happen to change that theme every week. With little expense invested, you can choose to go more vibrant with the fabric and leave the solids to the plates so that you can reuse for year-round events. I picked up this Black & White fabric from a local fabric store for under $5 dollars a yard, and I only needed a yard and a half for my 4 top table! Since this was a more casual setting I folded my edges under, however, if you wanted to go more elegant you could serge the edge of the fabric to give a complete look.

Reversible Porch Sign with Adhesive Vinyl

Ever since buying our house, our porch has seemed a little bare, but I hate finding a place to store large home decorations, even if we have the space for it. Knowing all of this, I knew the best thing would be to create something that had a dual purpose for our porch. I settled on a wooden reversible porch sign that featured a winter design as well as a year-round, welcome design. Now, our porch will look great all year, and I’ll never have to dig for this 6’ board in my basement. ;)

Using Adhesive Vinyl for Glass Etching

When we started working on the tablescape project, we knew we had to try our hand at glass etching. The nice thing about having a Silhouette Cameo is that the projects you can create are endless. Did you know that you can actually use adhesive vinyl to create a stencil for use with glass etching? That’s right, with just your Silhouette, etching cream, and OraCal 651, you can create a gorgeous etched design, that’s permanent and dishwasher safe.
